Phnom Penh, February 2026Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC) announced the launch of Norea International School (NIS), a new international school that will welcome its first students in August 2026, ahead of the opening of its new campus at Norea City in 2027.

British and Cambodian Curricula for International and Local Learning

Norea International School will not only focus on providing an international curriculum but will also offer our students the opportunity to pursue the Khmer pathway and sit for the National Exam. The school will also provide a modern academic setting along with opportunities in sports, music, drama, and world languages, supporting a well-rounded learning experience.

The development of the Norea City campus recently reached a key milestone with a groundbreaking ceremony held on 1st February, 2026, at Norea City, marking the official start of construction.

Campuses Built for Holistic Student Development

Scheduled to open in the second semester of 2027, the 2-hectare Norea City campus is designed to support holistic student development in a safe and calm riverside environment. The campus will place strong emphasis on sports and fine arts, with comprehensive athletic facilities alongside dedicated recreational, creative, and performance spaces.

To begin serving families earlier, NIS will welcome its first cohort through a soft launch in August 2026 at Élysée (Koh Pich), starting with Grades 1 to 5, while preparations continue for the opening of the Norea City campus.

“Norea International School is built on the belief that international education and Khmer identity can grow together, creating an inclusive environment where every child can be nurtured, innovate and succeed” said Ms. Shailani Borges, Head of School, during the groundbreaking ceremony.

Developed by an Established Education Group

Presided over by Dr. Lim Lina, Norea International School is developed by OCIC, which has an established presence in Cambodia’s education sector. The group is behind several institutions, including Canadian International School of Phnom Penh, French International School of Phnom Penh, Aspen Learning Academy, and CamTech University. NIS is being developed in collaboration with OCIC’s local and international teams and partners, reflecting the group’s long-term commitment to education as a key component of national development.

With the launch of Norea International School, OCIC continues to integrate education into its broader community vision, supporting places where families can live, learn, and grow.
